Paul Duffy
Founder & Group Director: Product Management
As Director of Product Management, Paul is responsible for defining the company's product, service and support strategies and ensuring that Cogent Business offers customers the right products and services with the right pricing models and that they are easy to adopt. Paul is also responsible for Product Marketing within the group.
Before founding Cogent with Alistair, Paul spent ten years working for Microsoft in both the UK and at the company's headquarters in the USA. Most recently, Paul led the Redmond-based product management team for Office Communications Server, one of Microsoft's most significant new Unified Communications products. This team was responsible for defining product positioning and outbound marketing for the product line as well as driving customer requirements to the product. Before working in this role, Paul was responsible for launching Microsoft Office Communicator 2005, Communicator Web Access and Communicator Mobile. He has also worked in product management, in the worldwide Small Business Marketing team and he has held several consulting and technical strategy roles within the company. Paul started his career at the sharp end, working for a small reseller which sold PCs, networks and Internet access to small businesses. Paul maintains his deep technical knowledge and holds a current MCSE certification.
Outside work, Paul's interests include travelling, playing the piano (badly), flying light aircraft, skiing and cooking.
